We got great value for our money at Koo Karoo Guest Lodge. The room was cozy and classic, making us feel like we were in a proper English bed and breakfast. The location was perfect, with close proximity to restaurants and attractions. The staff, especially Shirley the owner, were incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout our stay.
One thing that could have made the breakfast even better would be some homemade jam or bread, adding a touch of home and uniqueness to the meal.

The guest lodge is centrally located, with easy access to restaurants and pubs on the Main Street. The owner, Shirley, is friendly and helpful, providing great service and recommendations for activities. The rooms are cosy and classic, with high ceilings that add a charming touch. Ample off-road parking is available. Breakfast is delicious and satisfying, and guests are allowed to enjoy a walk after breakfast before checking out.
The minimal breakfast selection and tough, tasteless bacon could be improved.

The room was spacious and really clean, making us feel super comfortable during our stay. It was awesome chatting with the owner and she gave us amazing recommendations of things to do in the area. The location of the lodge is mind-blowing, with plenty of tasty restaurants within walking distance. We loved that we could sit outside our room in the small garden with a jaw-dropping pool. The free wi-fi and on-site parking were great bonuses too. it was a splendid and unforgettable stay!

Shirley and Paul were excellent and friendly hosts and though we were self-catering (not B&B) attended to all our needs.

Nice and big room which made it possible to be without air conditioning even at 42° C outside. Warm welcome of very friendly owners. We felt really at home far from home!

I recently stayed at Koo Karoo Guest Lodge And Self Catering in Montagu for a business trip, and I must say it was a great choice made by my director. The highlight for me was the seasonal pool, which was due to open in October. It provided a refreshing escape after a long day of meetings, and the surrounding area was absolutely beautiful. , the staff at the lodge were incredibly friendly and helpful, making my stay even more enjoyable. The spacious and comfortable rooms were another standout feature, providing a peaceful haven for relaxation and work.
While my overall experience at Koo Karoo Guest Lodge And Self Catering was exceptional, there was one minor issue that I encountered.

Friendly owner, helpful advice on dining and activities. Quaint, old-style location near tourist spots. Homely lodge with accommodating host. Massive, comfy room with private entrance. Basic but satisfying breakfast. Will stay again when passing through.

Very friendly and helpful owners. Nice welcome.
A tv and some means of heating the room would have been nice to have given it was a chilly day, but this is just a recommendation rather than complaint.

The couple running the b&b went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. From the moment we walked in we felt at home and were being shown maps of montagu, being told of interesting things to do and even having restaurant reservations booked for us. In the morning a wonderful, hearty breakfast was served to us while we sat outside on the porch in the sunshine. We were expecting something basic based on the price we paid, but our room was very big, clean and homely and the king size bed was an absolute treat! I would recommend Koo Karoo to anyone, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there.
